LOP currently has approximately eight properties that are used as short-term rentals. The Board of Directors would appreciate the following:
1. Post/remind your renters that the lake is NOT available to renters for fishing, boating, or swimming.
2. Post/remind your renters that 4WD or AWD vehicles are necessary for winter access. Chains are always a good idea!
3. Ask that renters/property managers DO NOT leave trash outside/on top of the dumpster. If the dumpster is full, they will need to dispose of trash in another manner.
3. Please make sure that the Board has the contact information for your property manager. Every now and then issues arise and we need to know whom to call.
4. Please see attached doc below Vacation Rental by Owner Information published on the La Plata County website. The document addresses the requirement for a Colorado business license, as well as for lodging and sales tax to be remitted to the Colorado Dept of Revenue. The document also addresses how to Be a Good Neighbor; your LOP neighbors would appreciate you posting this information!
